RCMP are investigating a shooting threat at Barrington Municipal High School.
The threat was received online by a female who attends the school, who then shared it with authorities.
Cpl. Chris Marshall says the RCMP were notified of the threat around 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday. The threat was not for Tuesday but rather another date but based on information obtained early in the investigation it was determined the level of risk was low enough for classes to continue.
RCMP officers were dispatched to campus to monitor the situation and they will maintain their presence on campus as their investigation continues.
Classes are cancelled today at the school as a cautionary measure.
In the coming days Cpl. Marshall says RCMP officers will analyze the data from the threat to determine how credible it is.
