Mattea Roach is moving on to the finals on’ Jeopardy! Masters’. The Halifax native came in second and third in two games on Tuesday’s show.
Roach paid tribute to their dad who died suddenly earlier this month of a brain aneurysm.
“He’s a huge part of the reason why I’m here. He and my mom instilled an early love of Geography in me. My dad taught me all about turner classic movies and old music and all sorts of things,” Roach said.
Roach said they were on set when he passed away and that everyone was very supportive.
Roach gained fame on the long-running game show with a 23-game winning streak, making them the most successful Canadian to play.
Joining Roach on the finals will be James Holzhauer as well as Matt Amodio.
The final will air Wednesday.
