Attitudes are becoming more permissive towards office attire across the board.
It was only 7 years ago that the majority of us surveyed (56%) did not want to see men’s knobbly knees in the office.
Now it’s becoming more commonplace, although it’s somewhat gender specific and generational.
Older workers and especially women don’t want men to wear shorts in the workplace.
The battle for t-shirts has been won – over 80% of workers say it’s fine.
Flip flops? That’s another story. Only 1 in 4 say they’re fine.
With the forecast for tomorrow calling for highs of 29, I would completely understand and do business with a banker or real estate agent in shorts and tee-shirt, and yes, flip flops as well.
