Nearly 1200 Canadians were polled and about 45% say they can’t afford a place to live, according to a new poll by Narrative Research.
Younger Canadians seem to be feeling the tight housing market the most, with 33% between the ages of 18-24 saying things are unaffordable.
The survey says it’s a little better for Millennials aged 25-34 with 19% saying housing is too unaffordable and for those 35-54, only 12% are struggling, and only 5% of Boomers.
And as for across Canada, BC (50%), Ontario (43%) and the Atlantic provinces (40%) are feeling it the most, with Quebec (7%) having the least amount of people who find housing unaffordable.
