The highly anticipated Nova Scotia Showdown between Sidney Crosby’s Pittsburgh Penguins and the Ottawa Senators at Halifax’s Scotiabank Centre generated immense interest among Nova Scotians. Tickets for the game were made available to the general public on Ticketmaster, and they sold out rapidly, leaving only a few available within a mere ten minutes.
Now, unless additional seats are released, the primary option for fans eager to attend the October 2 game is to explore the resale market. However, these secondary market tickets come at significantly higher prices, leaving many fans feeling disheartened.
Upon checking Ticketmaster, only two “verified resale” tickets were listed at a staggering $1,785 after fees. Meanwhile, on StubHub, prices ranged from $300 to over $1,300 after including fees. These exorbitant prices are likely to leave a sour taste for those who had hoped to secure tickets at face value.
In an attempt to cater to loyal supporters, a limited number of presale tickets were made available to Halifax Mooseheads season ticket holders one day prior to the general public release. The initial ticket prices, when they went on sale to the public, were reasonable, with the most expensive ticket priced at approximately $200. Even an obstructed view seat in the upper bowl was available for $70.
Nova Scotians who were fortunate enough to secure tickets during the brief window of availability will have the chance to witness a thrilling clash between two prominent NHL teams.
