Women’s sports are increasing in popularity by leaps and bounds. There’s a new six team Women’s Professional Hockey League coming in January.
3 of the teams are Canadian, based in Toronto, Montreal and Ottawa.
Meanwhile this past Wednesday night in Nebraska the women’s volleyball team the Cornhuskers played the visiting Omaha Mavericks in front of a football stadium crowd of 92,003, the most attended women’s sporting event in history.
I’ve always watched women’s soccer and since the last summer Olympics I’ve followed women’s track and field – long jump, pole vault, triple jump and the hurdles.
