A woman went viral on Tik Tok with her video of her weighing a 200 gram of No Name Potato Chips she’d bought at No Frills.
@joceforce on TikTok showed her weighing the unopened bag of chips on her kitchen scale, and the scale showed just a tad over 100 grams.
When contacted, Loblaw’s said they’d look into it but figured it was a “one off” occurrence.
Shrinkflation is bad enough with food manufacturers making packages smaller and still charging the same price, but this could be another cash grab if it’s more common than we know.
I’m digging the kitchen scale out of the cupboard and keeping it on the kitchen counter for the next few weeks and plan to start weighing groceries that seem a little light compared to usual.
Have you noticed any lighter than normal food packages?
