The Souls Harbour Rescue Mission in Bridgewater will be opening its doors this winter as a warming centre for those experiencing housing insecurity.
They officially started operating as a warming shelter on November 20 and will be open daily from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.
The shelter is also looking to hire two new staff members to assist with the shelter, as well as volunteers. Anyone interested in working or volunteering with the shelter can contact the shelter at www.SoulsHarbour.ca or email volunteer@shrm.ca.
The decision to operate as a daytime shelter was made after the announcement earlier this month that the Lutheran Church located on Phoenix Street will serve as an overnight shelter for the South Shore this winter.
