The Municipality of Barrington has selected Rikjak Construction Ltd. has been selected to lead the construction of the new recreation facility. Positioned as a hub for well-being and social interaction, the facility will boast a range of modern amenities designed to cater to diverse interests and needs.
Key features of the Recreation Centre include an indoor walking-running track, a program kitchen, a 4,000 ft2 multi-purpose room, program and group activity spaces, a community room/meeting space, and a cozy spectator viewing area. More than just a sports facility, the Centre aims to provide versatile community spaces for events, meetings, and gatherings, fostering social cohesion and ensuring a varied array of recreational activities for residents of all ages.
The construction prioritizes inclusivity, emphasizing accessibility for everyone, regardless of age or ability. Specialized areas and programs will be in place to accommodate diverse needs and interests, reflecting a commitment to serving the entire community.

To mark this pivotal step, a sod-turning ceremony is in the works for Wednesday, February 7. The community is warmly invited to join in this momentous occasion, celebrating the commencement of construction. The project is slated to kick off on April 15, 2024, with completion expected by April 1, 2025.
