RCMP have charged the driver of a pickup truck that was involved in a three-vehicle collision just outside of Lunenburg on Friday afternoon.
Cpl. Guillaume Tremblay, a spokesperson for the RCMP says that officers were alerted to the collision which occurred at 1:25 p.m. at the intersection of Highway 332 and Green Street (opposite Northwest Road).
“A pickup truck traveling east on Highway 332 failed to stop at the intersection and while trying to avoid an SUV that was stopped it struck it, subsequently those vehicles ended up in the intersection and struck another car that was making the turn,” said Cpl. Tremblay.
Paramedics were called to the scene and the driver of the pickup and the driver of the car making the turn were treated for minor injuries.
The intersection was closed for a few hours as police conducted their investigation which resulted in the driver of the pickup truck being given a traffic violation for failing to stop.
The intersection has since fully reopened.
