There’s a great story about a grade 8 math teacher who was puzzled by his students always saying “you are the goat” at the end of his classes.
He thought it was just a silly joke that he didn’t get, and would tell the students, “No, You are the goats!”
Curious about the joke he wasn’t getting, he took to Reddit to ask what do they mean when they call me the goat?
He was reduced to tears when the Reddit community told him goat is short for “greatest of all time”
I’m not sure, but I think sports fans first started using this when talking about QB Tom Brady and it just caught on.
I’ve told this story before, but I had a Grade 5 teacher , Miss Purcell , who never smiled and to be frank, scared the heck out of us kids.
But she had a knack for teaching art, something I had been terrible at doing. My stick men didn’t even look like stick men.
Under Miss Purcell’s teaching, I produced some of the most amazing paintings and drawings.
For me, she was “the goat”.
