It’s Shrove Tuesday, Pancake day!
How do you like your pancakes? In Britain they don’t use baking powder in the batter and make them smaller and thinner like French crepes.
Exceptions being Wales and Scotland where they are thicker.
Americans always use baking powder to make thick pancakes.
Generally Canadian pancakes are even bigger than the American ones.
I used to get a tub of Imperial Cinnamon Spread to put on my pancakes, but you can’t get the stuff anymore.
However, you can make your own!
1 cup imperial margarine
1 tbsp cinnamon
1/2 tsp cardamom
1/4 cup icing sugar
1/4 cup brown sugar
1 tbsp vanilla extract
whip all ingredients, put in airtight container in fridge and it will last for several weeks (less if you substituted butter)
