Environment Canada is advising most of our province to get ready heavy rain, which l could cause potential flooding.
According to their advisory, we can expect a significant amount of rainfall along with strong winds on Friday.
Due to the frozen ground conditions, and heavy snow in many areas the soil’s capacity to absorb this rainfall is expected to be reduced.
Rainfall accumulation between 25 to 55 millimeters is projected from Friday evening to Saturday evening, with the potential for higher amounts in specific locations.
Furthermore, there will be gusty winds reaching speeds of 70 to 90 kilometers per hour.
EC Meteorologist Bob Robichaud says those in areas with significant snowfall still on the ground should clear any storm drains before the rains arrival on Friday, so as to help drainage.
