What tv shows were you not allowed to watch when you were a kid?
It seems that moms the world over felt that the Simpsons was not a good show for us kids to take in. (Something about being disrespectful to parents)
Most Dads could care less, unless they were forced to take Mom’s side.
I grew up before the Simpsons came on the scene so the banned shows in our household were the horror and murder movies that were making their way to television.
I distinctly remember Alfred Hitchcock’s “Birds” and “Psycho” being two movies that we weren’t allowed to see. (which immediately made us want to see it, and the next week on the walk to school our friends who got to see it filled us in on all the best scenes.)
I’m still surprised at how much Moms didn’t want us to see the Simpsons.
