A serious collision along Highway 10 in New Germany sent three people to the hospital, including one who had to be transported by helicopter after sustaining life-threatening injuries.
The collision occurred on Saturday, April 21, around 3:00 p.m., when RCMP said a black Mazda CX-5 exiting a driveway was struck by a white Volkswagen Golf travelling on Highway 10.
The driver and sole occupant of the Mazda who was identified as a 73-year-old woman was then airlifted to Halifax for medical treatment.
The two occupants of the Volkswagon, identified as a man and a woman both aged 21 sustained serious injuries and were transported to a local hospital via ambulance.
Highway 10 was closed for multiple hours as a collision reconstructionist investigated the scene but has since reopened.
The investigation is still ongoing and any witnesses are asked to contact RCMP or Nova Scotia Crimestoppers if they wish to remain anonymous.
