Ocean Entertainment (OE) is currently recruiting prospective homebuyers in Nova Scotia for a new reality house-hunting show.
The Halifax-based production firm recently had their idea for a house hunting show featuring a coastal Nova Scotian home greenlit by an American production company, with filming set to begin this May.
“We’re looking for content for 20 episodes,” said OE Founder and Executive Producer Johanna Eliot. “Each episode will feature a homebuyer, a realtor and three properties one of which they pick,”.
“With this show, we aim to offer a fresh and compelling perspective on the beloved ‘house hunt’ genre,” said Eliot. “Set against the breathtaking backdrop of our province’s rugged coastline, the series celebrates the timeless allure of oceanfront living and the universal love for the sea,”.
Eliot says they want the show to be diverse so they are hoping to receive applications from homebuyers of all different types, from new Canadians to families looking to retire and settle down.
Production is open to traveling anywhere in the province though Eliot says for the farther reaches of the province they would try and schedule multiple shoots so as to maximize efficiency.
The application process is open now until May 5, though Eliot indicated it will likely be extended. Ideal candidates should be seeking to purchase a coastal home sometime between May and September, or have purchased a home in the last six months.
The show was purchased by an American cable network which are likely to air the show next Spring, though that has yet to be confirmed. Eliot confirmed it will be available to watch in Canadian markets once it begins airing.
Details on how to apply can be found on the Ocean Entertainment website.
