The visiting authors lineup for the 2024 Port Medway Readers Festival has been released, with four authors slated to visit the idyllic seaside village this summer.
The event which began in 2002 takes place annually through July and August and provides an opportunity for readers to listen to and meet local and international authors. The festival continues the tradition of the Tennysonian Reading Circle, started by the women of Port Medway in 1903.
This year’s authors include:
- Rosemary Sullivan (July 20th, 7PM) – Reading from her new memoir, Where the World Was
- Michael Crummey (August 17th, 7PM) – Reading from his latest novel, The Adversary
- Holly Hogan (August 18th, 2 PM) – Reading from her thrilling non-fiction, Message in a Bottle, Ocean Dispatches from a Seabird Biologist
- Alexander MacLeod (August 31st, 7 PM) – Reading from his new book of short stories, Animal Person
Tickets for this year’s festival go on sale May 13 and will be available through the Eventbrite ticketing platform.
Proceeds from ticket sales are used for the upkeep and preservation of the Old Meeting House, the History Show and other heritage projects administered by the Medway Area Heritage Society.
