The provincial government is seeking feedback from Nova Scotians on the state of policing in the province.
An online survey has been launched where residents can anonymously share their thoughts on how policing is currently going and what they’d like to see moving forward.
“Nova Scotians deserve to have their say about how this important service is delivered in our communities,” said Attorney General and Justice Minister Barbara Adams. “I hope as many people as possible take a moment to share their experiences and ideas with us so we can create a law enforcement system that is responsive and meets the needs of the people it serves.”
Getting feedback from residents was one of the many recommendations to come out of the Mass Casualty Commission.
Consulting firm Deloitte will be handling the technical aspects of the survey which can now be accessed online.
Submissions will be accepted until July 31.
In addition to the survey, there will be in-person public engagement sessions later this summer and into the fall.
The policing review is expected to be completed by the spring of 2025.
