Nova Scotia is set to experience its third heatwave of the summer starting Friday.
Environment Canada has issued heat warnings for mainland Nova Scotia excluding Digby, Yarmouth, and Shelburne Counties.
High temperatures and humidity are expected to begin Friday morning and last until Wednesday. During that period daytime highs are projected to reach highs in the low 30s with humidity making it feel even warmer.
Currently, heat warning conditions are not expected for the southwestern corner of the province or Cape Breton, however, these conditions may begin to be met in those areas on Sunday.
The height of the heatwave is expected to be on Monday when we will see the highest temperatures and humidex ratings.
During the heatwave, it is important to remain hydrated and avoid prolonged exposure to direct sunlight. Pets also should not be left alone in vehicles.
