Nova Scotia’s Serious Incident Response Team (SiRT) has determined no wrongdoing from the RCMP following an investigation into the death of a man in Hants County.
The incident occurred on March 2, 2024, when the RCMP responded to a 911 call at a residence in Bramber.
Upon arrival, officers encountered a man with outstanding warrants who refused to leave his vehicle or identify himself.
After some time, he agreed to leave the vehicle, was handcuffed, and brought to the ground.
Soon afterward, the man experienced a medical emergency.
Despite efforts by the police, first responders, and Emergency Health Services (EHS) to provide emergency medical care, the man was pronounced dead at the scene. An autopsy later revealed that the cause of death was cocaine toxicity.
