The countdown is on to a cherished annual tradition at St. Francis Xavier University in Antigonish.
X-Ring Day is Tuesday.
In an exclusive ceremony, 1,060 graduating students will receive the coveted rings which are recognized world-wide.
Since the first ceremony in 1958, generations of StFX alumni have been proudly wearing the X-ring, a symbol of solidarity.
According to a release, the December 3rd X-ring ceremony will happen at the Charles V. Keating Centre at 2 p.m. It is for graduating students only. There will be special seating for parents and guests at other locations on campus. The event will also be livestreamed.
The university says the guest speaker will be John Caplice ’87. A long-time supporter of StFX, he is a former member of the StFX Board of Governors and is also known for establishing the Point After Club that was created to provide meaningful and sustainable financial support to the university and the X-Men Football program. Caplice has also led a successful career in Canadian business.
