When people share living space, it can result in some real dilemmas.
For example, I thought this lease holder was out of his mind when he asked how much more he should charge a roommate who was working from home.
I initially thought how petty is that? Sure, charge someone more if they have the master bedroom, but you don’t time their showers or how long they are cooking with the oven.
But then he made an excellent point. Roommates with bigger bedrooms that have a desk can work from home from their bedrooms without disrupting the house.
But if you have a small bedroom and decide to work from home from a communal space like the living room or tv room, then you’re putting out your roommates who can’t watch tv or listen to music while you’re working.
What do you think? Should the roommate be charged more? How much more?
