The Lunenburg District RCMP is currently probing a tragic incident involving a fatal collision on Highway 10 in Pinehurst.
They first received calls around 12:45 a.m. reporting a solitary vehicle accident on Highway 10 in Pinehurst. Preliminary investigations indicate that a pickup truck, while traveling on Highway 10, veered off the road and ultimately came to a halt in a nearby ditch.
The driver, a 36-year-old resident of Indian Path, was the sole occupant of the vehicle and was pronounced deceased at the scene. Authorities have not released any official statements or details regarding the identity of the deceased at this time.
An RCMP collision reconstruction expert was dispatched to the site, and the investigative process is currently underway. The precise circumstances surrounding the accident remain undisclosed as the investigation progresses.
As a result of the collision, Highway 10 experienced a temporary closure lasting several hours for investigative and cleanup purposes. We are pleased to inform the community that the road has since been reopened to regular traffic.
