Anticipate a damp and blustery kickoff to the weekend, warns Environment Canada.
In a special weather statement, the agency cautions residents about an impending weather system bringing “significant rainfall and strong winds” on Saturday.
According to the statement, a low-pressure system is set to approach Nova Scotia on Saturday morning, accompanied by heavy rain and robust winds.
“A total rainfall of 40 to 70 millimetres is expected, with locally higher amounts possible, along with maximum wind gusts of 70 km/h, except 90 along parts of the coast,” the advisory noted.
Eastern Nova Scotia is anticipated to experience the brunt of the strongest winds, the statement added.
