Over the years we tend to have Christmas traditions, mostly from our own childhood Christmases.
However, the last couple of years I’ve let some of those traditions go.
I used to search for that candy that no one eats but looks good in the candy dish – you know, the ribbon candy and barley toys from Robertson’s.
Licorice Allsorts and those buckets of hard candy have also been dropped from our Christmas shopping lists.
We still enjoy those homemade peanut butter balls and those chocolate squares with the little marshmallows.
I’ve gotten used to vegetarian Christmas dinners (Tofurkey is really not that bad)
My Christmas Eve tradition was to wrap presents and watch Love Actually and Die Hard but this year it’s not going to happen.
For some reason “It’s A Wonderful Life” is back at the top of my favourite Christmas movie list.
I’ve come to appreciate the movie’s themes of kindness, community and the evil of greed after the news stories from the past year.
What is your favourite Christmas movie you’ll watch over the holidays?
