Nova Scotia’s Nathan MacKinnon is taking home the hardware after a big season on the ice.
The Halifax native won two awards at the NHL’s year end banquet, including the Ted Lindsay and Hart trophies.
The Ted Lindsay is given to the league’s most outstanding player and it is voted on by his peers. Meantime, the Hart goes to the most valuable player on their team.
MacKinnon notched 140 points this season, including 51 goals for the Colorado Avalanche.
The 28-year-old grew up playing in Cole Harbour’s minor hockey system and eventually became a hometown star with the Halifax Mooseheads.
He won the Stanley Cup with the Avs in 2022
