The Discovery Network’s annual Shark Week is already underway and one of the new programs airing this year looks at great white sharks in Nova Scotia.
Premiering on Wednesday, July 10 is the documentary called Great White North.
It features researchers from Dalhousie along with other shark experts as they explore Nova Scotian waters to better understand great white populations in the area.
The show was produced by Halifax-based production company Tell Tale Productions.
Most of the footage was captured off Cross Island which is a few kilometres off the coast of Hirtles Beach in Lunenburg County.
In addition to researchers the show also prominently features the Flower family from Lunenburg who lead deep-sea fishing excursions in the area.
Great White North first airs at 9 p.m. Atlantic (8 Eastern) this Wednesday, July 10 on the Discovery Channel, with additional airings to follow.
It will also be available on the Discovery+ streaming platform.
