RCMP in Lunenburg County has arrested a man wanted on a nationwide arrest warrant.
On August 12, RCMP at the Chester Detachment was alerted that a 34-year-old man originally from Goodwood was seen returning to his home in Chester.
That evening, around 7:00 p.m. RCMP attempted to arrest the man at his house in Chester on Bond Drive but when they arrived he fled on foot into the nearby woods.
Officers pursued the man and called in a K-9 team that helped them locate and arrest the suspect three hours after he fled from police.
During the search, there was a heavy police presence in the area.
In addition to the charges he was already facing he was also charged with resisting arrest.
He has since been remanded into custody and will appear in Provincial Court in Halifax on September 9.
