The new exit for Highway 103 in Bridgewater is set to open on schedule for Fall 2024 according to officials with Public Works.
That gives crews a little over a month to wrap things up with the final day of Fall on December 21.
Most of the major work related to the project is now complete.
The remaining work mostly consists of small finishing touches like painting, signage, and guardrails.
Barring any setbacks in the final month, the exit must pass some safety testing and trial runs before it fully opens to the public.
Once complete the new exit which is designated as Exit 12A should help reduce traffic congestion around Bridgewater, as it will offer a much more direct route to Highway 103 for people coming to and from the local Michelin plant.
When first announced the project was budgeted at a little over $50 million, with half the funding coming from the federal government and the remainder from the Province and Town of Bridgewater.
