The Nova Scotia government has announced measures to address delays caused by the Canada Post strike, which began on November 15.
Residents are being encouraged to use online services and direct deposit to avoid disruptions in receiving provincial mail and cheques.
Starting November 20, Nova Scotians will be able to pick up certain mail and correspondence at Access Nova Scotia centres. High-priority items will be available for pickup beginning November 30. These items can be collected on Saturdays from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., but only after staff notify individuals that their documents are ready.
For clients of the Department of Community Services who still receive cheques by mail, caseworkers will contact them directly to arrange in-person pickup.
