Sixteen acres in Bridgewater has been earmarked for a new Ecohousing development.
Cate de Vreede with Treehouse Village Ecohousing says the land off Pearl Street will be home to between 25 and 30 energy efficient 1, 2 and 3 bedroom private units and a common house.
de Vreede says the site is ideal as it sits in a well-forested green space that is within 20 minutes walk of most town amenities.
“They get that sense of wild and nature while being really connected to town.”
de Vreede says 20 families have already signed up and the group has space for more people who share their vision.
“Our goal for this one in Bridgewater is to be really energy efficient, environmentally responsible, multi-age, family-friendly community.”
de Vreede says they hope to break ground next spring with an eye to moving into the development in 2021.
