A 22 year-old gymnast from Bridgewater has returned home from the Canadian Trampoline Championships in Oshawa, Ontario with a silver medal.
Tia Wamboldt finished second in the women’s level five 17+ Trampoline event.
She says it was a big moment for her.
“This is my seventh nationals that I’ve gone to and this was the first time I was actually able to pull off a medal. It was very rewarding to finally do that and it was exciting because all of my teammates were there supporting me.”
She says she had to compete in two routines, made up of 10 skills that needed to have a full flip in each while remaining on the trampoline.
Wamboldt is experiencing an incredible season after winning silver at the Canada Games in February and gold at Elite Canada in May.
She will enjoy a break now before getting back to practice in September.
