Community members from Mahone Bay are looking to spread some cheer this afternoon with a little music.
At 5:15 today community members will step outside and play music, bang pots and pans, sing and more in an effort to lighten the mood during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Paul Seltzer is one of the community members helping get the message out, he says the idea came to him from his neighbours who are currently in Geneva, Switzerland. After a conversation with them and some local interest, he decided to spread the word ” They told us that in Geneva everyone was coming out to the balconies playing music and getting a little cheer, so I saw one of my neighbours post something on Facebook saying he’d like to the same.”
From that point Seltzer emailed a neighbourhood organization he’s a part of and since then it’s began to spread. Facebook posts have since been shared on message boards across the South Shore.
Seltzer says he’ll be playing When The Saints Go Marching In on the trombone.
