My Wife and I really enjoy going out to eat. Before the Pandemic, we would stop at a restaurant to enjoy a meal at least once a week. The last place tried before restaurants could no longer offer dine-in options was The Biscuit Eater in Mahone Bay.
Just like you probably felt at different points of the weekend, we were getting a little stir crazy at home on Saturday and wanted to go out to eat. Of course, that’s not an option anymore!
Instead, we went online to see what was open and what different places delivered in our area… that way we could relax and not worry about cooking, while also enjoying some high quality food! We decided to order from Jac’s Burgers and Shakes on King Street in Bridgewater.
What happened next surprised me!
After placing my order for delivery, the food arrived at my door within 20 minutes of my phone call! Mind you, I live in town and the restaurant is only a 5-minute drive away, but that lighting fast service delivered our meal quicker than some restaurants do when I’m staying in to eat!
On top of that, when it was delivered the person dropping it off arrived at the door wearing gloves and stood back as far as she could as she passed over the food. Even though they’re coming to your door, they’re still taking all the proper precautions necessary and physical distancing.
After a nice chat with the Jac’s employee delivering the food, I learned that the restaurant didn’t deliver before the Pandemic, but since new regulations were put in place by the Province and now many people avoid leaving their homes unless the absolutely have to, they decided to bring the goods to you!
Just like Jac’s, many restaurants are adapting and coming up with new ways to serve you! Not all of them are offering delivery, but most are still open to serve you! Although you can’t dine in, you can take it out and bring it home! You can even add Beer and other alcoholic beverages to your orders now!
