If teams listen to pre-draft rankings, Bridgewater’s Luke Woodworth could be drafted very early during this year’s QMJHL draft.
The 5’7″ forward is the seventh overall prospect in the pre-draft rankings produced by Central Scouting making him the top ranked Nova Scotian on the list.
Last season Woodworth recorded 67 points in 34 games during his rookie season with the UPS Store South Shore Mustangs.
His efforts helped lead the team to finishing on top of the regular season standings for the first time in franchise history.
He lost the chance to lead a playoff charge with his team as the NSMMHL cancelled their playoffs in response to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Looking ahead and considering his ranking, it’s hard to see Woodworth suiting up for a Nova Scotia team as only Halifax has picks in the first round (14th and 18th).
The QMJHL will be holding its draft online for the first time ever between June 5-6.
The first round will be presented live on the QMJHL’s Official YouTube Channel.
