Lumberjacks General Manager, Brad Muise announced today that Lunenburg native, Brogan Bailey has been hired as the new Head Coach of the South Shore Lumberjacks Junior A Hockey Club.
Last season Bailey coached the UPS Store South Shore Mustangs who finished atop the regular-season standings for the first time in franchise history.
He was named Nova Scotia U18 Coach of the Year for 2019-2020.
Muise spoke about what Bailey can bring to the team in a press release, “Brogan has a great skill set in the areas of teaching, communication along with team and player preparation. He’s creative with his approaches off and on the ice to get the best possible results. He’s shown at every level of coaching that he is professional and successful at all his activities. Not to mention, he has an extensive playing background in Junior and University hockey, where his experiences as a former captain of MHL championship team with Woodstock Slammers (now Grand Falls) will bring value to our organization.”
Brogan previously served as an assistant coach for the Lumberjacks from 2015 to 2018 gaining valuable experience in the Maritime Hockey League.
As a player at U-Sports level, he was an assistant captain at Nipissing University in North Bay Ontario, achieving CIS Academic All-Canadian status on route to a Degree in Bachelor of Physical and Health Education from Nipissing University in 2014.
The team says Bailey will reveal his coaching staff later this week.
