Candidates are beginning to declare there intentions to run in the fall and one of the first to do so was Leitha Haysom.
Haysom will be running for the first time in District one of the Municipality of the District of Lunenburg.
A release with some information on her was sent out today which included her reason for running.
“With my long history of volunteerism and community service in Lunenburg County, I am excited to continue serving from this new perspective. I’m committed to our community and have always supported and promoted the many great things we have to offer. We certainly have some challenges ahead of us in these uncertain times, but I believe we are well equipped to face them and to build a thriving Municipality for everyone.”
Haysom has spent most of her life in the Municipality and she now lives in Crousetown with her husband and two young children.
Other candidates still have time to declare before the deadline on September 8.
We’ll be speaking with all of the candidates as the elections get closer so stay tuned for more local election coverage.
