No, I’m not suggesting using your childhood phone number as a password.
I read somewhere today that the average person now has 190+ passwords and usernames to remember. It’s getting ridiculous. We’re not supposed to use the same passwords on different sites, so that’s 190 plus unique username password combinations to remember.
Every day I have to change a password because I forgot the darned thing, even if I changed it just the day before. Yet I can remember my childhood phone number as if it was yesterday!
Lately I’ve been busy checking into password managers since the security experts say it’s safer to use one than to not have one. My biggest fear about password managers was that if a hacker was able to hack the software they would have all your usernames and passwords but it turns out that most reputable password managers have what’s called zero knowledge technique where the company that runs the password manager doesn’t know your password so even if the company was to get hacked it wouldn’t get the hackers your password.
Just to prove I remember my childhood phone number, here it is (I can post it because the phone company changed my parent’s number) 902-465-9566.
Do you remember your childhood phone number?
