Atlantic Canada’s first cohousing community has hit a new milestone.
Treehouse Village Ecohousing, which is working to set up their ecohousing community in Bridgewater, has sold half of their available housing.
In a release, Treehouse Village co-creator Leon de Vreede said they are excited to have sold 15 of the 30 available units, and is looking forward to breaking ground on their Bridgewater lot.
“It’s important to ensure Treehouse Village is a multi-generational community, so we are looking for that balance of young people and families, as well as older individuals,” he said.
The release said they plan to start construction once they sell nine more units.
So far, the project has drawn buyers from three different countries, as well as other Nova Scotians, and they hope it will draw more who want to make the move in early 2022.
