The Maritime Junior Hockey league has extended its trade deadline in response to the late start of the season.
The new trade deadline is February 25, 2021, having moved from January 10.
The move lines up with the delay to the season’s start which began on October 30, which is around six weeks later than the league normally starts up.
As of now, all MHL games up until January 13 are listed as postponed with the league shutting down games in response to an uptick in Maritime cases as well New Brunswicks’ move to put all health zones in the Orange Phase of COVID-19 recovery.
The league’s website shows games will resume after January 13, if that happens the South Shore Lumberjacks would return to the ice on January 15 when they are scheduled to play in Yarmouth against the Mariners.
