I have met a few famous people because of my job. Mostly Canadian artists, but also a couple of big international artists. Got to meet Tina Turner when she visited our fair province for a concert years ago. Shook her hand, spoke to her for a few minutes. To this day the biggest memory of it was “she’s so much tinier than she looks on stage”. I also met and spoke to Paul Simon in the Halifax Sheraton parking lot after one of his concerts. Like Tina, he is also very small when up close and personal.
I am pretty sure I have walked by celebrities on the streets of Lunenburg and Mahone Bay but the problem is I don’t recognize them. My wife Karen tells me I stood beside Paula Patton and Robin Thicke but had no idea who they were.
