Heritage Day this year falls on Monday, February 15 meaning many businesses will be shut down for the day.
Below is a list of businesses around the South Shore that will be closed;

- Grocery Stores – All Sobeys, Superstore and Wal-Mart locations will be closed
- NSLC – Closed (all locations)
- MODL Offices – Closed
- NS Government Offices – Closed
- Federal Government Offices – Closed
- South Shore Centre – Closed
- Restaurants – Most restaurants will be closed with some franchises like Boston Pizza (Bridgewater), McDonalds, Tim Hortons and Pizza Delight (Bridgewater) confirmed to be open.
- Bridgewater Transit – Closed
- Retail stores – Most retail stores will be closed but you should check their individual websites to be certain
Garbage collection will not be taking place in the Municipality of Lunenburg of Bridgewater on Monday but an alternate pick-up date is scheduled for Saturday, February 13.
Most recreation facilities will be open for the day with some like the LCLC offering special Heritage Day programming for kids as well as an afternoon MHL Hockey game between the South Shore Lumberjacks and the Pictou County Weeks Crushers.
