If you or someone you know has produced a masterpiece this year the time to nominate them for the Lieutenant Governor of Nova Scotia Masterworks Arts Award is now.
The nomination period opened this week and will remain open until March 1, 2021.
According to the award info page, it is meant to recognize excellence in all creative media and highlights works that have a strong connection to Nova Scotia in the context of national and international achievement.
Previous winners have been diverse, with sculptures, books, multimedia projects, and other types of art all claiming the top prize in the past.
Once all the nominations are received a panel of judges will select five finalists that will be announced in the summer. The winner of the award will be announced in the fall at the Creative Nova Scotia Awards Gala.
The prize pool for this year’s competition is $36,000 which will be divided amongst the finalists and winner.
Nominations can be submitted by anyone including self-submissions through the Masterworks nomination page.
