The Nova Scotia Health Authority (NSHA) is advising anyone who has been in Hebbville and Middlewood to get tested for COVID-19.
In a release issued today, the NSHA says they are investigating confirmed cases of COVID-19 on the South Shore and as a precaution they want people to get tested.
The release says, “Public Health is encouraging those who live – or have visited – anywhere between Hebbville and Middlewood, as well as those in surrounding communities, to get tested for COVID-19, regardless of whether you have symptoms.”
In an effort to help with their request the NSHA is sending its Mobile Testing Unit to the South Shore this weekend.
The Mobile Testing Unit will be stationed at the Italy Cross Fire Department this Friday, Saturday, and Sunday- with testing taking place daily from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Drop-in appointments are being accepted but the NSHA encourages people to book online or by calling 811.
As this is precautionary request individuals who go for testing are not required to isolate while they await their test results.
There are currently 12 active cases of COVID-19 in the Western zone and 40 active cases province-wide.
