Fresh Cuts Market in Bridgewater recently decided to closed their doors after a staff member tested positive for Covid-19.
Owner/Operator, Andrew Langille said the decision to close the grocery store didn’t come easy.
“We’ve all worked so hard here at Fresh Cuts Market just to make sure that everyone is safe,” Said Langille. “We put extra protocols in place that a lot of other retailers didn’t have and we really tried to have a safe environment for our customers and our staff, so it was definitely a shock”
He said although the store was not forced to close, he felt it was the best choice for everyone.
“We decided that if we had a closure we could isolate everyone from each other and make sure it wasn’t passed on to other staff members or the public,” Explained Langille.
He added that most of the items that would have gone bad during the closure were donated to the Bridgewater Interchurch Food Bank.
Langille said although the store’s financial loss is substantial, he believes the right decision was made for the safety of their staff and customers.
He estimates that the store will remain closed for at least another week, and they will update their Facebook page and website when they have a better idea of when they will re-open.
