Parkview Education Centre went into their hold and secure protocols this afternoon for a short period.
The hold and secure was initially called at 1:58 p.m. and it was called off shortly after at 2:07 p.m.
According to the South Shore Regional Centre for Education say there was no immediate threat at PVEC.
Hold and secure protocols are less restrictive than lockdowns as they are utilized when there is lower degree of threat.
A hold and secure occurs when there’s a threat in the general vicinity of a school, but not on, or very close to school property. Examples might include a crime in progress, police pursuit or search in the same neighbourhood as the school.
So far no details on what caused the hold and secure have been released.
