Kenneth Savory is being remembered as a caring family man following his alleged homicide last week.
An obituary was released today for Kenneth, known as Kenny which shows the void he will leave behind for those he loved.
“Kenny was one of a kind, carefree, happy, always there when needed, would do anything to help you out. To those that knew him, he would be considered a golden guy,” the obituary said.
Over the weekend Police laid a second-degree murder charge against Terry Richard Johnson in relation to Kenny’s death.
According to the Lunenburg District RCMP, last Thursday they responded to a report of a man being run over by a truck.
Before police arrived, the truck had fled the scene. The victim was later named Kenneth Savory a 44-year-old man from Lunenburg was pronounced deceased at the scene.
Johnson appeared in Bridgewater Provincial Court this morning where his lawyer Alexander Pink requested a stay of proceedings until Wednesday so he has a chance to speak with the Crown prosecuter Bryson McDonald.
The judge agreed, though Johnson will remain in custody until his next hearing and potentially throughout his entire court proceeding.
There will be a celebration of Savory’s life on Sunday June 27, 2021, the day after his birthday at 6747, Hwy.332, Upper LaHave, between 1:00 p.m. and 4:00 p.m. Friends and family are invited to pay their respects.
