As of 5:24 p.m. RCMP say the accident has now been cleared and traffic is moving smoothly.
Chester RCMP say a two-vehicle collision along Highway 3 is causing delays in Martin’s Point area.
They say traffic is backed up starting around civic addresses in the 6000s and they are advising motorists to avoid the area if possible.
No one was seriously injured in the crash according to RCMP but they say one vehicle is now sitting in the middle of one lane, impeding traffic.
While many people have been using that route to avoid construction stops along Highway 103 for most of the summer the RCMP are advising people against taking that detour today.
When speaking with the RCMP around 4:00 p.m. they were unable to provide an estimate on when the collision will be cleared, though they did say tow trucks had not yet arrived indicating it would be at least another hour before the road could be cleared.
