I have never been much of a pop drinker. As a teen I drank Fresca until they took it off the market in Canada because an ingredient caused cancer in rats.
When I spent a year in the States I would enjoy an occasional Dr Pepper.
I never cared much for cola drinks but they are so ubiquitous that of course we all end up having a Coke or Pepsi from time to time, but if there is a Dr. Pepper to be had, that is my choice.
But describing the taste of Dr Pepper is hard to do. I used to call it a Cherry Cola of sorts until I had an actual Cherry Cola and I knew that was not the right description.
There are 23 ingredients to Dr Pepper – fans speculate that the flavors are amaretto, almond, blackberry, black licorice, caramel , carrot, clove, cherry, cola, ginger, juniper, lemon , molasses, nutmeg, orange, prune, plum, pepper, root beer, rum, raspberry, tomato and vanilla.
