Over the past few days, there have been political signs popping up around the South Shore that have the phrase “Vote Her Out” on them.
They have since been taken down, despite that there are still many unanswered questions.
Firstly no one seems to know where they came from, the signs were all relatively small and they had no clear markings attributing them to any political party or organization.
The first reports of their presence came in Monday morning and our newsroom confirmed at least six were erected around the South Shore.
It also is unknown who the signs are in reference to. While it seems likely that they are referring to South-Shore St.Margarets incumbent Bernadette Jordan due to the fact that we are in a federal election currently and the signs syntax indicate they are referring to a woman all point to Jordan but without the signs being attributed to anyone it is impossible to say for certain.
As of Tuesday afternoon, all of the signs seem to have been taken down but by who is unknown.
According to Elections Canada, once an individual or group spends more than $500 on advertising, the group must register as a third party and follow strict reporting rules.
